Yes, this is pretty much how I felt about 1E.

When 0E came out I couldn't wait to get it to the table, it flowed well and had a strong idea of what it was. There were a few gaping holes, but you could easily get around them.

1E seems like Mr Potato Head with all his pieces stuck on at random. None of the ideas in it are bad by themselves, they just don't seem to have much of a relationship to each other. This is a pity, because I REALLY wanted to like this game.

I'll probably run it as 0E with the 1E combat system (which IS an improvement), but I shouldn't really have to.
